While this is cool in that it narrates a possible evolutionary path for the mammalian eye, I wouldn't show it to any hardcore anti-evolutionists, as it's not in the form of a controlled experiment.

Just-so stories such as these are only useful as starting points for discussion in a community which accepts some common axioms of evolution.

Great video Ron.

Yes, their theory is bankrupt. It has absolutely NOTHING to support it. There may be NO evidence that proves that it's not evolution, but the "divine hand of the Creator."

But then, fundies don't operate on evidence. They operate on "If we wish hard enough, we can make it so..." or "just ignore it, and that nasty "theory of evolution" will go away. We must ignore the devil's lies! He seeks to deceive us."

Unfortunately, belief often proves even more powerful than science, reason, and good old fashioned logic.

Well, for the fundies, at least. As Ron White once said, "can't fix stupid." Ignorance, on the other hand, can be remedied.

I can't decide if the fundies are outright stupid, or just willfully ignorant.

Oh hell, who am I kidding? It's both. Definitely both.

Yeah, try explaining the difference between "chance" and "natural selection" to a creationist. There is a difference - and it's a huge one. Yet they can't wrap their pointy little heads around it. Richard Dawkin's Mt. Improbable analogy is about the clearest explanation of the difference between chance and natural selection that I've ever read, yet I could get rich betting that these creo retards wouldn't acknowledge a word of it, if they could even understand it.

Saw that video a few months back. It's kinda funny (Ok, it's pathetic) how there are old videos like this, completely debunking the claim about the eye and yet they still act as if their argument is valid.

Same with the flagella on bacteria....

Excellent video. My only complaint is that they use the verbage "...natural selection chose..." which confuses the hell out of creatards. Of course what they MEAN is that via natural selection, the more efficient (and more modern) eye became a more common trait in animals, but the word "chose" is what commonly makes creatards jump back with the "SEE?! evolution is faith!" nonsesical argument.
