LOL, I commented in another post about that being what traditional Christians are afraid of. How the hell that guy could say that with a straight face, I have no idea — does he think they’ll find conclusive evidence to support Creationism? That just… that level of nonsense just astounds me.

Oh I would agree with you Christopher, the man was, unfortunately, a genius of using the people. I doubt highly that he held any strong view of evolution and or creationism. However, if the Steven is gonna use that quote it actually shows more creationist values. Also, of course his name got dragged through the mud he killed THOUSANDS of people.

It’s so true. They think that without any belief in a higher power some sort, that we have no self guidance in our lives. I’ve been called everything from an immoral baby-killing bitch to a stupid misguided liberal…and I’m only like this because I have no God.

They don’t seem to understand that they chose their religion, not the other way around (Just as we all choose what morals to live by).

As for the whole Hitler thing…that is such bull. The Jews were used as a political scapegoat for all of Germany’s problems, plain and simple. Hitler didn’t like them so he inflicted his own PERSONAL views on society…hmmm…sounds an awful lot like the fundies trying to turn their own particular religious views into our governing laws now doesn’t it?

Hell, it worked after WWII…and 9/11.

In my opinion Hitler was neither a creationist nor an evolutionist - he was a politician. In front of atheists he declared his disbelief in God. In front of catholics he declared that he was baptised & remains a catholic, etc. He used whatever cover was required to carry out his program - war & genocide. Whatever jargon he had to use to justify it he would happily adopt.

Oh Steven, so clever to use a Hitler quote…that taking just that means he was a creationist…so that means that Evolution =\= Nazism…rather that Creationism = Nazism. So where did this little logic leap take you? Would you rather to take ALL of his sayings into account, where he espouses a stronger view in favor of Evolution, though truthfully he uses Eugenics which has been around WAY before evolution.

Y’know, I’m hugely disturbed by a group of people that needs someone else, even a god, to tell them what right or wrong is. If without god we’d all be without morals to them, it says a lot about how they’d behave if there wasn’t some invisible man up there to set them straight.

Apparently. Fundies project their fears and insecurities onto others. We should be thankful that religion exists, because I think it keeps a lot of people under control. John Wayne Gacy was probably a failed fundie.
