Nor do my Buddhist friends, or my Wiccan friends. My agnostic friends are iffy. "In God We Trust" doesn't speak to me, and I don't want to be a part of a nation that officially "trusts" in God. No, I don't want "In No God We Trust" on our coins. I don't want "In Darwin We Trust." I want NOTHING. Is that so hard to understand? In God I do not trust. Nor do my Buddhist friends, or my Wiccan friends. My agnostic friends are iffy.

“In God We Trust” doesn’t speak to me, and I don’t want to be a part of a nation that officially “trusts” in God. No, I don’t want “In No God We Trust” on our coins. I don’t want “In Darwin We Trust.” I want NOTHING. Is that so hard to understand?

I was actually hoping that moving it to the side would get people used to not seeing it on everything in plain sight, while at the same time still HAVING it to prevent an uproar, and maybe in the future, we could really piss off the fundies by not endorsing religion at all on our moneys. But since people would be used to not seeing it plain sight, they wouldn't notice. Well, that didn't work obviously. Crap. At least my credit cards and debit card don't say "In God We Trust" on it. I hardly ever use cash. I wouldn't be surprised if someday in the future some Fundie group tried to get "In God We Trust" inserted into the money exchange network protocol used to do bank transfers. Somebody needs to start a campaign to restore the original motto, "e pluribus unum" to its former prominence. It speaks of the spirit of the USA WAY better than "In God We Trust" which excludes many, many citizens. That’s too bad about the coinage.
