Or, for that matter, viruses, protozoa, aomeba, and so on? It's a good thing plankton already live in the sea! Oh wait! Lemme guess... All bacteria derive from a single "kind" so the bacteria that helps digest my food and the bacteria that causes necrotizing fasciitis are actually the same, but the latter one is less "perfect" because of that pesky super-evolution causing degradation of species over time from mutation.
