ADA Demands Burkhas for Cosmo
(The ADA’s “solution” to the great offender. Frankly, I think they should be more worried about the candy next to the magazine. Obesity is a bigger problem than articles about sex.)
The self-proclaimed American Decency Association has decided that Cosmopolitan is filthy smut that you shouldn’t have to look at. Notice I didn’t say that they think that they shouldn’t have to look at it. They think you’re too sensitive to see things like that, so they will protect you. Thank you, ADA, thank you!
They’ve had a long-running campaign to get the magazine banned from the stores. That hasn’t worked, so now they decided the tactic to use is to demand that Cosmo be covered with a magazine burkha, just like Hustler is. Because, after all, they’re practically the same thing!
In a recent email alert, Bill Johnson of the ADA relayed a letter he recently received:
Question:
Dear Mr. Johnson,
I am discouraged that my Randall’s stores finally told me there is nothing they can (or will) do about Cosmo magazine. Do you have any more suggestions? Cosmo is everywhere and no one cares.

These fundies are like groundhogs. They occasionally poke their heads out of their burrows (or wherever else they’ve got their heads buried), and if they see something offensive, they know they’re in for six more weeks of Desperate Housewives.
I’ll spare you the details of BJ’s suggestions. They have to do with pressuring the store to make Cosmo as hard to find and, when you do find it, as hard to see as possible.
Don’t these people have anything better to do?

For goodness sake, if they can’t handle Cosmo, (or think we can’t handle Cosmo) what do they do about all the rape and cannibalism and child murder in the xtian holy book. Won’t someone think of the children?!!

What about the “Drop 20 lbs in 1 week”? there is no way that diet can work or be healthy in any way. Obesity is bad for you I know but starving and fad diets isn’t one bit healthier.

Ausyoyo, are you still reading this thread? It seems that Henry Percy thinks that you have Muslim allies. I didn’t know that he could find out so much information about somebody who posts here.
It’s also not clear if he is still talking to you by the end of his comment. It’s some sort of incoherent rant against the communists. He must miss the Cold War.
